The Government of Pakistan has introduced the Prime Minister’s Electric Bike Scheme 2026 under the Pakistan Accelerated Vehicle Electrification (PAVE) Programme to promote affordable and environmentally friendly transportation across the country.
Under the scheme, eligible applicants can receive a subsidy of Rs. 80,000 on an electric motorcycle, while electric rickshaws are eligible for a subsidy of up to Rs. 400,000, according to the announced scheme details. The government has allocated Rs. 9 billion for the current year, with a target of supporting 116,000 electric bikes nationwide. The initiative aims to reduce fuel expenses, lower air pollution, and encourage the use of electric vehicles.
